Gray Collegiate  6 Andrew Jackson  4

Game 2 of the 2A State Championship series between Gray Collegiate and Andrew Jackson HS was an edge of your seat matchup from start to finish. AJ starts off hot with a double on the first pitch of the game from '22 Bryce Helms, followed by a 2-run shot from '23 Landon Peavy on the next pitch to put AJ up 2-0 early, leading to a quick hook on Gray's starter and '23 Austin Lloyd came out of the pen without any outs recorded in the first frame. Gray would respond with a 2 out hit from '22 Gavin Creede in the bottom half to bring the score to 2-1. Both pitchers settled in nicely, until '24 Blaine Redmond came up in the bottom of the 4th looking to do damage for Gray. Redmond gets an inside fastball and drops the barrel on the baseball, sending a solo shot over the wall to tie the game at 2. Later in the inning, Gray capitalizes off a few 2 out walks, leading to a '23 Brent Stukes bases-clearing double to jump out in front 5-2. Next batter, '22 Peyton Starkey lines a single into center to score Stukes and Gray is in command 6-2 at the end of the 4th. AJ would add two more in the T6 with a bases loaded HBP and walk, but couldn't come through with a big hit and Gray earns the victory with a final of 6-4. The deciding Game 3 will be on Saturday at a neutral site.
