Prep Baseball Report is proud to welcome Erick Reyes as the company’s Chief Technology Officer, spearheading our future technology initiatives while managing our expanding team of data engineers and analysts.

With a deep history in cloud architecture, machine learning, data-driven applications and innovative data organization, Reyes previously served as a senior advisor to Prep Baseball Report, helping build out our AWS Cloud Architecture and software products to ingest, process and present third-party data captured at PBR events nationwide.

“We are extremely fortunate to have Erick Reyes on our team, as he is truly one of the most unassuming geniuses one will ever meet,” said Prep Baseball Report President Sean Duncan. “His impact as a part-time advisor was critical when we decided to go all-in on amenitizing our events with technology, with a mission to deliver players, parents, college recruiters and pro scouts actionable performance data"

“Now that Erick is our CTO, guiding and empowering our team of data engineers and analysts, all the while shepherding our continued growth in video, data capture and analytics, our Prep Baseball Report customers will be the ultimate beneficiaries.”

After graduating with a degree in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Illinois, Reyes served as an Analytics and Operations Intern at TrackMan Baseball before being hired as a Data Engineer. At TrackMan, Reyes was tasked with many responsibilities, including developing data pipelines to load data from multiple sources into a data warehouse; designing, developing and monitoring serverless applications; and researching feasibility of projects and designing prototypes, to name a few.

Most recently, Reyes served as Director, Machine Learning Operations at Fetch Rewards for three years. At Fetch Rewards, Reyes managed and mentored a team of 14 engineers and vision scientists, where he supported teams delivering on complex solutions in the Computer Vision, Document Understanding and Fraud Prevention domains. He was responsible for designing, building and maintaining data-driven services using Machine Learning algorithms. Reyes also worked for Strike Social as a data engineer, where he built data pipelines to collect, transform and serve machine learning engines.

“Erick is one of the most process-oriented individuals I have ever worked with,” said Prep Baseball Report Managing Director Cullen McGowan. “He has a unique ability to motivate and problem solve. It is rare to find someone with such a strong technical skillset and familiarity with baseball technology.”

Now, Reyes will bring his vast experiences to Prep Baseball Report, where he will help accelerate our mission of providing actionable data-driven insights to players and scouts alike to support athletes as they advance to the next level.

“In 2022, Prep Baseball Report has already captured performance metrics on over 70,000 athletes, with a strong data foundation,” said Reyes. “The next frontier is data-driven applications powered by technology, advanced analytics and machine learning. Our goal is to help players reach their aspirations to play at the next level, empower decision makers and scouts to make data-driven decisions and deliver amateur athletes with content they want.”
