+ RHP Andrew Hicks (Prattville, 2024) delivered a stellar outing on the mound when his team needed it the most facing off against one of the top teams in Class 7A. Hicks, a long 6-foot-4, 185-pounder, worked into the seventh inning and held a very talented lineup to just two hits in his extending outing. The uncommitted junior worked up to the mid-80's early on his outing but settled into more low-80's as the duration of his outing went on. He generates some heavy sink into right-handed hitters using a short 3/4 arm stroke, and pairs that with a quality slider in the low-70's with late bite and 11-5 shape. Hicks battled all night long making some big pitches in some big spots, and finished earning the win going 6 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 4 BB, and 4 K's on 83 pitches, 46 of which were for strikes. He's been up into the upper-80's last summer, and should be a good uncommitted arm in the junior class in AL to follow.
