Announcement: PBR Welcomes Senior Prospect Analyst Mike Rosenbaum To The Team

PBR Staff

Prep Baseball Report is proud to welcome Mike Rosenbaum back to our team. With a decade of experience as a prospect writer for MLB.com and Bleacher Report, Rosenbaum’s role of Senior Prospect Analyst will predominantly focus on the MLB Draft League and Draft HQ initiatives.

A true professional in the industry working across all forms of media, Rosenbaum most recently served at MLB.com for the last five years. Rosenbaum worked alongside Jim Callis and Jonathan Mayo, where he helped create MLB Pipeline’s annual Top 100 Prospects rankings, positional rankings and overall farm-system rankings. He also created, maintained and updated Top 30 Prospects lists for 10 different organizations year-round, including rankings, tool/OFP grades and scouting reports for 300+ players. Rosenbaum led MLB Pipeline’s in-season Minor League coverage, providing nightly write-ups of the day’s top performances, on-site spring training reporting and coverage, including appearances on MLB Network.

“I am pumped to welcome Mike back to the PBR family,” said Prep Baseball Report President Sean Duncan. “Back before he became a multimedia mogul for MLB.com, Mike was a prospect writer for us 11 years ago in Missouri. It’s been fun to watch his career blossom since then, and I’m grateful that he has come back home to work on impactful company initiatives such as the MLB Draft League, Draft HQ, JUCO Wire and PBR NOW.

“Mike is extremely knowledgeable in the industry, is well-connected and, above all, he’s a first-class person who undoubtedly makes our team that much better.”

Aside from his prospect knowledge, Mike is well-versed in all forms of media. While at MLB.com, he was a staple in MLB Pipeline’s annual Arizona Fall League coverage; he conceptualized, designed and built original content for MLB’s Twitch channel, hosting a show that featured top prospects being interviewed while competing in MLB The Show, and was a regular guest on MLB Pipeline Podcast.

Prior to his work at MLB.com, Rosenbaum was the lead prospect writer at Bleacher Report for three years (2012-15) and also worked at Rotoworld, serving as the lead prospects writer for its annual “Draft Guide” magazine.

Rosenbaum cut his teeth working for Prep Baseball Report in Missouri in 2010-2012 after graduating from Grinnell College in 2008, where he was a four-year starter for the Pioneers and captained the team as an upperclassman.

Now, Rosenbaum brings his vast experiences back to Prep Baseball Report, where he will work alongside MLB Draft League President Kerrick Jackson to provide the most in-depth coverage of all the draft prospects.

“The state-level work I did for Prep Baseball Report over a decade ago was my stepping stone into the baseball industry, and it's a true honor to now be reconnecting with the company and individuals that gave me my first break,” Rosenbaum said. “PBR's commitment to advancing players' careers has been clear from the beginning, and I've been particularly impressed with the company's implementation of innovative technology and data during its evolution. I'm beyond excited to join the deeply talented and revered PBR team and look forward to furthering their great work.”
