4/29/2022 Shelbyville vs Batesville
By Cooper Trinkle

Charlie Rife, C, Shelbyville HS, 2022
Strong, 6-foot, 215 pound Bellarmine signee. Rife showed improved receiving skills and athleticism behind the dish. One of the better catch-and-throw guys I’ve seen this spring, with present arm strength and good arm accuracy. Top pop time of 1.96 between innings. Wide, balanced setup at the plate with very good bat speed. Minimal movement in the upper body throughout the gather/load. Short, clean bat path. Rife was 1 for 3 with a walk and RBI in this look.

Zach Wade, C, Batesville HS, 2022
Very physical, 6-foot-2, 210 pounder. Impressed offensively with a short, quick swing. Present barrel strength for the Adrian College signee. Showed flexibility behind the dish with strong hands. Good blocker. Showed arm strength, with a top pop time of 2.00 between innings.

Dalton Jones, 1B/RHP, Shelbyville HS, 2025
Long, projectable 6-foot-2, 200 pound freshman 1B/RHP. Hit in the 2-hole and was the DH for Shelbyville in this look, the freshman is hitting (.356) on the season. Wide stance with an active, rhythmic load. Solid bat-to-ball skills with a short, quick swing. Tends to get a little steep. Good follow.

Will Jaisle, OF, Batesville HS, 2025
Freshman OF with some feel to hit. Athletic, 5-foot-11, 178 pound build. Balanced stance with a long, toe-tap stride. Cut the toe-tap down with 2K’s. Gets on plane early in the zone and gets to extension. Tends to over rotate with the lower half. Good follow.

4/29/2022 Laporte vs New Prairie
By Daylan Nanny

Jaden Parkes, OF, 2022, LaPorte, Uncommitted
Uber athletic Jaden Parkes displayed his ability to run with a 3.91 H-1st on an infield hit & also drove the ball through the middle of the field. Balanced swing with present bat speed.

Brice VanBruaene, INF, 2023, New Prairie, Uncommitted
Uncommitted'23 – VanBruaene singles here through the right side for New Prairie with a flat stroke & a simple load w/ a short stride. Take his hands straight to the baseball. Lots of room to fill out in his frame.

Rj Anglin, INF, 2023, LaPorte, Uncommitted
Anglin possesses some projectability in his frame with some athletic movements in the box. Looks the part. Strong top hand with a through the middle approach. Good extension.

Grady Kepplin, OF, 2023, New Prairie, Uncommitted
Recording multiple hits on the night with a back side 2B – Kepplin showed to be a run producer. Really liked how tall he keeps his back side. The bat speed looked right. Strong frame & plays very hard.

Cam Worthington, INF, 2022, LaPorte, Ivy Tech College Commit
Performing as the catalyst for LaPorte’s offense – Worthington hit the ball through both the 4 & 6 hole with some physical presence in the box. Athletic mover with a good feel to stay inside the ball. Good pick up for Ivy Tech baseball.

Mason Braun, 1B, 2025, New Prairie, Uncommitted
Big fan of the 1B from New Prairie. LHH with a BP exit velo up to 100mph already. Showed some true back side leverage potential with a good approach to the pitch at the top of the zone. Rhythm is a choppy at time & expect consistency to continue with quieter rhythm throughout the swing.

4/29/2022 Penn vs Andrean
By Gene Kolarik

Joe Trennery, RHP, Penn HS, 2024
Uncommitted 2024. 6-foot 3, 205 pounds. Long, strong framed RHP. Started for the Penn Kingsman. Tall delivery, lands on a stiff front leg, with an upright finsih. Low ¾ arm slot. Fastball was effective up in the zone, with arm side run producing swings and misses. Control needs to be refined. Sat 84-86, topped 87 in his outing. Flashed a CH (70-73) that had good fade, able to be thrown for strikes. Good arm to follow.

Zachary Hoskins, OF, Penn HS, 2022
Lake Erie College commit. LHH outfielder. 5-foot 11, 180 pounds, strong lower body. Sets up in a wide, open stance. Controlled leg kick, and drop of hands used to load. Showed the ability to go inside out for a double into LCF. Good bat speed, gap to gap approach. Quick first step out of the box. 4.31 home-to-first on the 2B.

Adam Lehmann, C/RHP, Penn HS, 2023
Uncommitted 2023. 6-foot 3, 190 pounds. C/RHP has a solid frame, strong lower ½. Started the game behind the dish but transitioned to the mound in the 6th. RHH had 2 singles. Caught my eye on the mound. FB sat 87-88 in 1 inning of work.. Drop and drive delivery, compact arm action, high ¾ release. Worked low in the zone with the majority of pitches. CB (69-72) had 11/5 break, with a tendency to leave them low. Interesting 2-way to keep an eye on

Drayk Bowen, INF/OF, Andrean HS, 2023
Notre Dame commit. 6-foot 2, 215 pound, 3B/OF. Athletic, strong lower half, jacked frame. Two sport athlete, committed to play football at Notre Dame as well. RHH sets up in a narrow, slightly open stance. Toe tap timing mechanism, minimal hand movement. Strong lower half and good bat speed, powerful contact. Loose in the box. Competitor on the field.

Jax Kelemba, C, Andrean HS, 2022
Purdue-Northwest commit. The 5-foot 7, 175 pound catcher continues to find barrels in the heart of the 59ers offense. RHH looks the part in the box, confident takes, good swings. Above average bat speed provides good power.Has hit a HR each of the two times I’ve seen him. Solid defensive play behind the plate. Blocks pitches well, 2.04 in game pop time. Kalemba finished the night 3-3 with a 2B, and HR.
