Big Schools Targeting Brandon Garland (TN) And His Stuff

By Nathan Rode

LHP Brandon Garland (Unicoi HS, TN) may not be pitching right now, but he’s one to follow. The 6-foot-2, 182-pound sophomore is currently out for the season with a sprained ankle after slipping on a sprinkler head and will have to wait to take the mound again. When he does, some big programs will likely be lining up to watch him pitch.

Garland threw a bullpen session at the Preseason All-State Showcase in February and sat 89-90 with arm-side run. He topped out at 91 there, says he’s hit 93 a couple times before and wants to reach the mid 90s before the end of the year. Despite the injury, he’s still throwing to stay loose.
