Cannons Scout Day Standouts

Doug Freeman
Florida Scouting Director

Thursday, November 8th, Prep Baseball Report ran the Cannons Baseball Academy Scout Day at Westminster Academy. With 45 players in attendance from the 2021-2024 classes, there was a lot of young talent on display. The players took part in a laser 60, pro-style workout, BP and bullpens.

There are a number of players that will be ones to follow going forward. The biggest winner on the day was 2022 RHP Evan Dobias who topped out at 85 mph and has a very high ceiling. There were several position players who also made a nice impact. Santiago Ordonez showed bat speed and above average defensive potential behind the plate, Brandon Gonsalves had the top infield velocity of 85 mph and the top exit velocity of 89 mph and showed upside on the mound, while Erik Blair also showed intriguing two way potential.

Below you can find the full breakdown of all of these players and more who stood out during the scout day, all of which have earned an invitation to the Preseason All State for their performances.
