Carolinas Top of the Summer: Exit Velocity

Brandon Hall
Mid-Atlantic Executive Director

PBR was working all summer to identify as many players for college coaches and pro scouts as possible throughout the summer of 2021.  While the world was not completely back to normal, our scouting staff was able to attend PBR Events, PBR Tournaments, practices, games, workouts, and other events.  With each event in the Carolinas, we will look back at some of the top performers from the summer of 2021

Top of the Summer: Exit Velocity

Throughout the summer, PBR scouts were on hand to capture stats, notes and video on players attending PBR events.  Today we turn our attention to the top exit velocities posted during BP, on TrackMan.  At most events, players are able to take multiple rounds of live BP, with TrackMan capturing ball flight off the bat of each ball put in play in fair territory.  TrackMan is able to measure and capture a hitter's peak exit velocity, or their highest throughout the rounds of BP, as well as an average exit velocity, taking into account, every ball in fair territory.  Below are the top exit velocities from the summer of 2021.

PEAK EXIT VELOCITY

Rank Name State School Class Pos Exit Velocity (max)
1 Joshua Bussey NC Pro5 Academy 2023 OF 105.3 mph
2 Jordan Overton NC Rolesville 2022 C 101.7 mph

AVERAGE EXIT VELOCITY

Rank Name State School Class Pos Exit Velocity (avg)

2 Dylan Rodriguez SC P27 Academy 2022 3B 94.4 mph
