Chandler World, Evoshield Canes Show Strengths In North Carolina

Some travel teams came to North Carolina’s Triangle area this past weekend to play a few games. The main attraction for scouts were Chandler World and the Evoshield Canes as the two teams featured several draft prospects on the mound and in the lineup. I bounced around a few different sites to see each team play at least three games. Here are some highlights from the weekend:

+ RHP Noah Burkholder (Crown Point HS, IN) has pitched sparingly this year as a nagging injury has limited his ability to get on the mound. He looked in peak form Sunday morning, starting against Chandler World. The Louisville recruit pitched four innings, allowing just three hits while striking out seven. Burkholder has a long frame, standing at 6-foot-6, 190 pounds. Tall, young pitchers tend to be inconsistent with their deliveries as they work to get all the moving parts in sync, but Burkholder seems to have it figured out.
