Chapman vs Powdersville Upper State Championship Game

It would take two games to decide the 3A Upper state Championship but Chapman held strong in the 2nd game at home to take home the crown. In game 1 Powdersville would jump out to a commanding lead and never look back. Chapman placed runners in scoring position almost every inning but couldn't get the big two out hit to drive them in. In game 2 Powdersville would jump out to a 2 run lead early in the game. Chapman however would answer, tying the game in the 5th inning at 2 a piece. Montalvo continued to keep hitters off balanced to set up a 7 run 6th inning for Chapman, receiving contributions from everyone in the lineup. The 6th inning all but ended the game. Montalvo would close the game out for Chapman to send them to the 3A State Championship Game.
