MARIANNA, FL - Unable to make the Sophomore All-Star Weekend two weekends ago in the wake of Hurricane Michael, Chipola and Gulf Coast State participated in a joint Scout Day hosted by Chipola.

We teased our upcoming Junior College Prospect rankings by releasing the Top 10 prospects on Wednesday. Among those 10 was Chipola infielder Ivan Johnson (South Carolina commit) at No.7. Johnson did nothing to diminish that status on Thursday, in fact he only helped his case with his performance. Chipola also boasts a silky smooth middle infielder in Joshua Rivera.

The Gulf Coast State prospects were impressive in their own right. Utility-players Bretty Wisely(South Florida commit) and Jacob Kates both have a wide range of skills. Wisley is a swiss army knife on the diamond, playing seemingly anywhere and getting it down on the mound, not to mention ihs advanced hit tool. Kates' physicallity lends itself to his entire game, as he swings a powerful bat offensively and mixes it up on the mound.
