Coastal Plain League: Macon Bacon

MACON, Ga. — So far this summer, we’ve broken down prospects from Coastal Plain League clubs Martinsville, High Point-Thomasville, Lexington County and Savannah. Today, let’s dive into the prospect collection for the Macon Bacon, headlined by a group of power arms from Indiana. Here are my observations on the Bacon after watching them play four games in four days.

• The Hoosiers sent four arms to Macon this summer, and I got good looks at all of them. Sophomore righthander Matt Litwicki started the first game I saw in Macon and worked three innings of one-run ball, showing off the most arm strength of the bunch. A thick, sturdy 6-foot-1, 215-pounder with a three-quarters slot, Litwicki pitched comfortably at 90-94 mph for three innings, and even bumped 95-96.
