Corinth Wins Tight One vs. Apex Friendship

Apex Friendship paid a visit to The Boneyard Friday night to take on the Corinth Holders Pirates in a Round 2 matchup in the Eastern 4A Playoffs. 

Corinth scored first in the 2nd when Jackson Crute took home on a throwing error. The Pirates struck again in the 3rd scoring 1 run on a pair of line drives by Jett Music and Reece File. 

A couple of Pirate miscues allowed the Patriots to plate 3 runs in the top of the 4th inning to take the lead. Corinth reclaimed the lead for good on a 2 RBI double by Graham Wike in the bottom of the 5th. The Pirates plated 2 more runs in the bottom of the 6th behind a Cullen McGee solo homer and line drive double by Joe Dolinshek. 

The Pirates punched their ticket to Southern Pines to face off with #2 seed in the east Pinecrest on Tuesday May 16th. Apex Friendship closes out the 2023 season with a 15-12 record.
