Day 3: Florida Limited Series

The inaugural PBR Limited Series came to a conclusion on Sunday with FTB Tucci-Berryhill taking the crown in the 16U division and the Elite Squad winning the 17U. The three days were jam packed with non-stop action including athletic position players, polished hitters, and high-ceiling arms. Each team presented plenty for the scouts in attendance to lock in on, and given the friendly confines of the complex at IMG Academy, it was easy to concentrate on multiple games at one time. Based on the performances of the players this weekend, the summer circuit is sure to be filled with bountiful talent.

SIX SUNDAY ARMS

Justin Koehler 3B / RHP / James W. Mitchell, FL / 2019

Koehler, a West Virginia recruit, pounded the zone with his fastball which ranged from 86-88 and touched 89 mph a handful of times. The 6-foot-1, 170-pound right-hander has a lean, wiry-athletic frame and exhibited complete confidence on the mound while attacking hitters throughout. His slider has a chance to be a weapon moving forward, and is already a swing and miss offering with tilt and tight spin. He throws the pitch with fastball hand speed, and has no problem throwing it in any count. His compact delivery and whippy-quick arm give signs that he will throw even harder in the future.
