Draft League Spotlight: Alberto Osuna

Mike Rosenbaum
Senior Prospect Analyst

Player: Alberto Osuna
Position: 1B
School: Walters State Community College

The Mauldin, S.C. native has been the driving force offensively for PBR’s No. 2-ranked JUCO program, putting up numbers that merit NJCAA Player of the Year consideration: .471/.542/.935 with 17 homers, 13 doubles and 68 RBI through 42 games. At 6-foot-1, 235 pounds, Osuna projects to hit for both power and average from the right side of the plate. He produces high-end exit velocities -- 114+ mph exit velocity at Walters State CC Scout Day in 2020 -- and tape-measure home runs to the big parts of the park with relative ease using a short, compact swing. He’s a solid defender with good hands as a first baseman and has the type of impact potential in his bat needed to profile at the position.
