Draft League Spotlight: Blake Holub

David Seifert
Director of College Scouting

Player: Blake Holub
Position: RHP
School: St. Edwards

A 6-foot-6, 230-pound Texan with a sturdy lower half and a wide back, Holub throws with a short arm path to a three-quarter slot. He creates some natural deception with a high front side and ball is tough to see out of his hand. His fastball works in the 90-94 range and can touch 95 with some late cut at times. Holub’s best secondary offering is a changeup at 81-82 mph with good arm speed and arm side action. The right-handers breaking ball is more slurve-shaped at 74-77 mph. His best can induce chase out of the zone. So far during the 2021 season, Holub has struck out 31 batters in 25.1 IP to go along with a 2.49 ERA.
