An aggressive 6-foot-1, 190-pound left-hander, Baumann works quick and has a reliever look to his delivery from a three-quarter slot. He has more control than command of his stuff with a fastball sitting 89-91 mph, touching 92 and ranging between 1925-2150 rpm. He locates better to his glove side with the ability to tie up right-handed hitters inside with his heater. His best pitch is a plus changeup at 80-81 mph with a 1500-1685 spin rate and good bottom to its finish. At times, Baumann shows excellent arm with this pitch, but will slow his arm and aim the ball, losing effectiveness and quality. He also throws an average 74-76 mph curve and manipulates it into a hard (77-79) slurve when needed. Spin rates ranged from 2050-2200.
