Draft League Spotlight: Casey Dana

Player: Casey Dana
Position: 3B
School: Seton Hall

A four-year starter in the Big East, Dana led Seton Hall in batting average (.367), OBP (.458) and RBI (16) during the shortened 2020 season. The Don Bosco Prep (Ramsey, N.J.) product has built upon those numbers early in his senior season, slashing .418/.474/.687 with three homers, nine doubles and 16 RBI in his first 20 games. A career .273/.375/.473 hitter with 20 homers in 131 games, Dana uses his 6-foot-4, 215-pound frame to create leverage and loft in his right-handed swing. He can hammer pitches down in the zone and stays inside the ball well, showing over-the-fence pop to the big parts of the field. A serviceable third baseman defensively, Dana also has some experience playing first base and has received more left-field reps in 2021.
