Draft League Spotlight: Daniel Harris IV

Mike Rosenbaum
Senior Prospect Analyst

Player: Daniel Harris IV
Position: 3B/SS
School: Eastern Kentucky

A starter for the Colonels since his freshman year, Harris is a well-rounded player with a track record of performing in the Ohio Valley Conference. After garnering College Baseball Freshman All-American honors in 2018, the Stone Mountain, Ga. native tallied nine homers and 44 RBI as a sophomore and got off to a torrid start in ‘20, posting a .460 average that led the OVC and ranked ninth in the nation before the season was shut down. The 6-foot, 188-pounder has natural hitting ability and shows some pop from the right side of the plate, with average speed that boosts his profile on both sides of the ball. Though Harris has experience as a shortstop and possesses both the hands and actions for the position, he’s better suited for the keystone at the next level -- a position he’s played exclusively as an Eastern Kentucky upperclassman.
