Draft League Spotlight: Daryl Myers

Player: Daryl Myers
Position: SS/1B

School: Benedictine College

The son of 13-year Major League reliever Mike Myers, Daryl has done nothing but hit during his five seasons at Benedictine, compiling a career slash line of .402/.472/.693 with 289 hits, 230 runs, 41 homers, 198 RBI and 48 stolen bases in 2020 games. He’s hitting .465 through 46 games so far in 2021, good for the fifth-best average in NAIA. Though currently a shortstop, the 6-foot-1, 195-pounder may ultimately end up at first base. He has the bat and game power needed to profile there, too, thanks to an impactful left-handed swing that enables Myers to drive the ball with authority to all fields. Regardless of where Myers lands on the defensive spectrum long term, it will be his bat that carries him up the pro ranks.
