At his best the LSU commit overpowers hitters with a fastball/slider mix from a high three-quarter slot and works down the hill with a controlled delivery. His arm action is clean with a deeper path and above average effort. He’s also athletic and works slowly from a nontypical, hybrid wind-up/stretch mixed delivery. He varies his pace to the plate with the intention of manufacturing deception and disrupt hitters’ timing. Working down the mound, Bollman finishes with excellent extension out front from a high three-quarter release point. He throws both a two-seam and four-seam fastball. His four-seamer lives in the low-90s, touching 94 while spinning in the 2300s. His two-seamer is more 89-91 while spinning in the low-2000s. He looks to be capable of adding even more velocity after a recent jump of 10+ from his senior year of high school to the present. His slider is his go-to pitch, which he will throw up to 85 mph, but mostly sits 81-82 while spinning 2100-2200 rpm. It’s an average to better pitch at times. The final piece of his arsenal is a low-spin circle changeup in the 80-82 mph and 1400-1500 rpm range.
