Player: Matt Mulhearn
Position: RHP

School: Webster

Mulhearn has enjoyed an accolade-filled career with D-III Webster while excelling in just about every role. The fifth-year senior owns a 30-8 career record in 63 appearances, during which he’s compiled a 2.24 ERA and .212 BAA. He’s also racked up 321 strikeouts against 50 walks in 313 innings, giving him strikeout and walk rates of 9.3 K/9 and 1.4 BB/9, respectively, as well as a stellar K/BB rate of 6.4. Mulhearn has been particularly good so far in 2021, going 8-1 with a 0.94 ERA, 0.63 WHIP and 18.8 K/BB (94 K/5 BB) in 67 frames. The highlight of his season came on April 2, when he recorded a program-record 17 strikeouts while firing a seven-inning no-hitter against Eureka College. The 6-foot-3, 205-pound operates with 90-92 mph fastball that he commands well to both sides of the plate -- one of several qualities that could allow Mulhearn to continue starting at the next level.
