Draft League Spotlight: Ranko Stevanovich

Senior Prospect Analyst

Player: Ranko Stevanovich
Position: 3B/C

School: North Park

Stevanovic spent his first two collegiate seasons at Southern Illinois University and Triton JC, respectively, before joining the North Park program and emerging as the program’s best hitter in ‘19, batting .377 with 69 hits in 42 games. After a lost 2020 season due to injury and the cancelled season, the 6-foot-1, 205-pound right-handed hitter has put up similar numbers in ‘21, highlighted by a .345 average and a single-season program record 17 doubles. That gap power should translate to some over-the-fence pop as Stevanovic continues to add strength, especially because he already shows natural hitting ability. Defensively, scouts have been impressed with Stevanovic’s athleticism, arm strength and overall ability behind the plate -- a position that he’s played only out of necessity. He’s also a standout defender at the hot corner and has the requisite offensive ceiling needed to profile there at the next level.
