Draft League Spotlight: Sean Ross

David Seifert
Director of College Scouting

Player: Sean Ross
Position: OF
School: Indiana State

A San Diego native, Ross was drafted out of high school in the 40th round by Toronto in 2017. Presently, he may possess the best outfield arm in all of college baseball. It’s a near 80-grade howitzer and has been clocked at 100+ mph. Built like a linebacker at 6-foot-1, 210 pounds he’s an explosive athlete who runs a 6.6 sixty. On the grass he’s shown the defensive versatility to play center or right field. Offensively, Ross posted .269/.365/.346 slash in 52 at-bats last spring for the Sycamores. On the bump, Ross will flash 93-94 mph heat, but to this point has mainly concentrated on his role as an everyday position player. After attending San Diego State as a freshman, then Pensacola JC as a sophomore he’s found a home in Terre Haute the past two seasons.
