The Hawkeye’s top pitching prospect is also very impressive in the batter's box showing an exit velocity of 106.4 mph on a deep home run to right-center field. Athletically built at 6-foot-1, 200 pounds, he’s a loose body guy with a quick arm. A legit two-way college player, Wallace is quickly developing into a top 10 round prospect as a pitcher. He will likely toe the rubber on Fridays and hit in the middle of the order for the Hawkeyes this spring. With high pitchability and some power to his heater, the southpaw has missed bats throughout his college career with 76 KOs in 62 IP. From a high three-quarter slot his fastball sits in the low-90s, but his separator is a swing/miss mid-80s slider with spin rates into the 2500s. His average 75-77 mph curveball is a strike stealer and Wallace also mixes in a usable changeup in the low-80s.
