+ For anyone in attendance while Team Texas was playing, it was tough not to pay attention to every move that 2020 SS Tre Richardson (Kingwood HS) made. Standing 5-foot-10, 155-pounds, the Houston commit plays extremely fast with natural, quick-twitch, smooth actions on the infield. He flashed high level range to both sides, and made the routine plays that are expected from a D1 shortstop. In addition, the “Baseball I.Q.” was on display when he dove in the six-hole, knocking down a single that was sure to score a run, then bounced to his feet and made a quick throw to third base, nabbing the base runner taking a big turn. Offensively, the right-handed hitter has a balanced setup with low, relaxed hands that work quick through the zone with feel for the barrel. He collected a single in the first game, driving in a run.

+ Uncommitted 2021 RHP Ryan Johnson (Home School) had an impressive outing on Friday night, carrying Team Texas to a 10-0 victory over a good offensive Louisiana club. The score was much closer in the early innings where the 6-foot-5, 170-pounder was dazzling. He allowed only two hits in his first three innings of work, the second coming from a leadoff triple in the third. Johnson then proceeded to bow his neck and get two of the next three batters on strikeouts, stranding the runner at third, and keeping the 3-0 Texas lead intact.
