GRAND PRAIRIE, TX - During the fall season The Mets Scout Team tees it up three straight weeks against three separate junior college teams. Yesterday, we posted video and notes on the players that stood out from McLennan Junior College, today we bring you our analysis on some of the standouts from the Mets Scout Team.

METS SCOUT TEAM

2019 LHP Bodi Rascon (Decatur HS) is an Oklahoma State commit that has been creating significant buzz around Texas, and rightfully so. Approximately 6-foot-5, 200-pounds, with a high waist, broad shoulders, long arms, and projectable pitcher’s frame. The left-hander works from a low-¾ slot with a loose-quick arm swing and relative ease down the mound with an athletic finish. His fastball topped out at 90 mph, sitting mostly 88-89, dropping only a time or two down to 86-87. His breaking ball has slurvey 2/8 shape with big break and depth to finish at 69-72 mph. When he gets to his release point, there is more depth to finish, when he doesn’t, the ball will back up on him. Turns his changeup over at 81-82 mph. Tons of upside with his projectable frame and loose arm, Rascon will be moving up in the Texas 2019 Rankings, and will likely draw the attention of Major League Scouts this spring.
