The 2017 Prep Baseball Report Future Games took place on August 2 – August 5th. The one-of-a-kind event featured the best uncommitted Class of 2019 prospects and select 2020 prospects from our 30-plus state coverage area.

Team Illinois showed extremely well over the 4-day event and four participants have already made commitments to Division I institutions following the event.

In the coming days, our scouting staff will dive deeper into the event with complete analysis of the 21 Illinois prospects who represented the state on one of the nation’s largest stages. Today, we will look at the position players who represented Team Illinois in the 2017 PBR Future Games. Video has been included from the Day 1 of the event.

TEAM ILLINOIS POSITION PLAYERS

Charlie Allison, CIF, Rock Island, 2019
6-foot-2, 175-pound, athletically built, projectable frame, long levered, corner infielder. Offensively, high-ceiling left-handed hitter. Starts from a balanced, open setup and stride gets back to even. Smooth pre-pitch load, gets separation, loose hands, creates whip and occasional bat speed. Stays through the baseball, adept at working the opposite field gap and can handle the pitch away. Registered an 89 mph exit velocity from a tee. Defensively, steady corner infield defender. Spent the majority of the event at first base. Reliable hands, fields out in front of his body and accurate arm that works short and from a high ¾ slot. Throws clocked at 81 mph across the diamond. Ran a 7.72 60.
