This premier event of the summer brought over 500 of the top uncommitted 2020 and 2021 grads across the PBR network to perform in front of 253 college and professional scouts from across the country. Today we begin to breakdown Team Mid-Atlantic with full player analysis.

Team Mid-Atlantic Player Analysis Pt. 2

Tyler Davis LHP / OF / Grafton, VA / 2020

Solid, durable frame at 6-foot, 211-pounds. Compact delivery with high leg kick and slight corkscrew in lift. Front shoulder tilt with longer arm action that creates fast arm speed. Nice balance throughout delivery with very good lower half involvement. Fastball has run on the pitch up to 86 mph. Change up has fade to the pitch with some late bite and dive to it at 75 mph. Throws two breaking balls, both with similar 12/6 action and occasional 1/7. Pitch has potential to be nice secondary and ranged from 70-77 mph. Harder breaking ball showed later action and has some swing and miss potential. Pitched well in his appearance and got stronger as he was out there. Depending on the level, has a chance to be a rotation arm with ability to throw three pitches and frame to last.

Eddie Eisert SS / RHP / Bishop O'Connell, VA / 2020

Projectable 6-foot-2, 185-pound frame. Showed good burst of speed with a 672 60-yard dash. (LH) Hits from a quiet, athletic set up at the plate with bat wiggle while holding at shoulder level. Some arm bar into load that closes off slightly. Shorter swing path that keeps hands inside the baseball at the plate. (RH) Hits from a similar set up but more athletic stance and slightly more open. Hands are more free at the plate from the right side with more strength present. Squares up with smooth load to hitting position. Exit velocity of 94 from the right side and 91 from the left. Balance got him in trouble at times in game. Clean mechanically from the shortstop position. Drop step prior to fielding position to work through baseball. Hands are very clean with smooth exchange to throw with a shorter arm action from a three-quarter slot. Was 84 mph across the diamond... On the mound has a stretch set up on the mound with step back in wind up. High leg kick to set hips and work into his backside. Smooth down to out with loose arm action throwing from a three quarter slot. Creates cross body action with lower half. Fastball showed later life on the pitch up to 84 mph at the event. Breaking ball has 10/4 action with bigger break at 72 mph. Change up had fade to the pitch at 75 mph. Very intriguing prospect in the 2020 class. Still has projection as both a position player and pitcher, might have to focus on one only at the next level.

Christian Ficca C / 1B / Gonzaga College, VA / 2020

Lanky and projectable frame at 6-foot-3, 190-pounds. Ran a 7.55 60-yard dash. Hits from a taller open set up with hands at shoulder level. Squares up with low leg lift to his hitting position with slight arm bar. Free hands at the plate with level path and bat speed. Shows pop to the pull side and that was present during his BP session. Nice rhythm in swing. Exit velocity of 93 mph. Nice feel for barrel at the plate and is only going to get better as he fills out his frame. Solid base behind the plate. Sound receiving ability, like to see quiet down a little more in game with body movement. Quick and clean exchange behind the dish with short arm action with a pop time as low as 2.12. Velo of 75 mph. Still rawness left to the game with higher ceiling. Showed ability to keep barrel in zone. knocked a double to left field on tough pitch in game in his one appearance before having to leave early. Like offensive potential of the prospect, and probably will be C/1B combo at the next level once frame is filled out and he looks like a linebacker.

Charles Hafer III OF / C / John Carroll , MD / 2020

Athletic, solid frame at 6-foot-1, 200-pounds. Ran a 7.05 60-yard dash. Hits from an athletic set up at the plate. Short quick load to hitting position, closing off slightly. Short, uphill swing path at the plate wanting to elevate the baseball. Gets extension through contact and the ability to pull hands inside baseball. Gap to gap type approach at the plate. Exit velocity of 94 mph.  Clean actions in the outfield with exchange and free arm action throwing from a high three-quarter slot. Throws had some carry to them at 84 mph.  Hafer got into much better rhythm in his swing on game day three against North Carolina and put his best swings of the event that day with a single and loud out up the middle on a laser hit to second. When that rhythm is present, looks like could be a solid gap power guy who could hit for average.

Evan Lewis RHP / OF / Severna Park, MD / 2020

Solid frame with some projection and room to add to at 6-foot, 175-pounds. Has a deliberate, controlled delivery that utilizes different tempo out of windup. Smooth downhill with some lower half involvement. Athletic sound arm action throwing from a high three-quarter slot. Pitches with some effort. Fastball has slight run to the pitch up to 86 mph on the day. Breaking ball is hard with tight 11/5 action on the pitch up to 76 mph. Arm works quick and looks to have more in the tank. Made one-inning appearance on day one of games then made two inning stint on day three. Showed better command of the zone and his pitches in second appearance, keeping Carolina bats at bay.
