NO. 23 MARIST V NO. 1 BUFORD (3.20.21)

Dylan Lesko, RHP/INF, Buford, 2022
Vanderbilt commit. 6-foot-2, 175-pound right-handed pitcher and infielder, an elite pitching prospect, the top ranked pitcher in the 2022 class. Continues to dominate competition. Started against Marist and went 5.0 IP, 10 K, 3 BB, 3 H, 1 ER. Allowed 2 of the 3 hits and the 1 earned run in the top of the first. Fastball sat 94-96 in the first inning, settled in at 92-95. Changeup, 85, a plus pitch that has typically been the go-to offspeed, was consistently missing low out of the zone with. Slider became the preferred offspeed, 77-80, 11/5 shape, sharp downer action, swing and miss pitch. Also helped himself out offensively with a three run home run into the wind over the left field fence.

NO. 14 WOODSTOCK V ALPHARETTA (3.18.21)

Kevin Maurer, LHP, Woodstock, 2024
5-foot-10, 155-pound left-handed pitcher, proportional build, young frame, lots of physical development to do. Entered the game in the 1st inning with two outs, down 6-1, went 6.1 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 3 BB/HBP, 6 K. Showed great composure on the mound. Arm works short and clean on the back-side, slot varies between low ¾ and side arm. Repeatable drop and drive delivery, easy effort, works on line, lands square, finishes square to home. Fastball sat 78-80 early in the game, armside run, located to both sides. Curveball, 68-69, sweeping action, good feel for. Changeup, 71, fade, rarely used.

NO. 13 GREENBRIER V EASTSIDE (3.15.21)

David Bell, C/RHP, Greenbrier, 2022
Uncommitted. 6-foot-1, 193-pound right-handed two-way prospect, proportional build, strength throughout with more to come. Made an impact on the mound and at the plate against Eastside. In his start went 7.0 IP, 6 H, 1 ER, 0 BB, 7 K. Fastball sat 86-88 in the first, settled in at 82-85 in the latter innings of the game. Located to all parts, generated swing and miss up in the zone. Curveball, 71-73 11/5 shape, bite, got around the pitch more than we have seen in the past, but still maintained its swing and miss abilities. Works at an extremely quick pace, consistent strike thrower. At the plate, carried the offense with a two home run, three RBI performance. Simple setup, slightly open with a wide stance, loads weight and hands back, short stride. Barrel works short and quick to the zone. Gap-to-gap hitter, drove home runs over the center and right field walls.

NO. 5 GRAYSON V PARKVIEW (3.15.21)

Bodie Eilertson, LHP/OF, Grayson, 2021
Uncommitted. 5-foot-11, 175 pounds. Strike throwing lefty that knows how to pitch. Threw three pitches with confidence; all within the zone. Long, full arm action. Quiet, controlled delivery; mixed tempos at times. Fastball sat 82-85 with some run. Curveball had 1/7 shape at 73-75. Changeup worked low in zone at 77. Good composure throughout outing, working around runners and limiting big innings. Threw 6 innings, allowing 2 ER, striking out 5 batters.

Sam Smith, 3B/OF/RHP, Parkview, 2021
Uncommitted. Physically-advanced build at 6-foot-5, 185 pounds with room for even more strength. Swung the bat well with two hits in the game. Loud triple to deep CF in first AB, followed by a line drive double down the LF line. Stays on time with load. Loud contact and can drop the barrel on the ball. Mid to upper-80s arm on the mound, as well.
