Gut Feel Guys For 2021

Nathan Rode, David Seifert and Shooter Hunt

The 2021 PBR Draft Board is set to drop tomorrow, as we rank the top draft-eligible prospects. To whet your appetite, the three of us have picked some of our “gut feel” guys for the latest Hotlist. It’s loosely defined, but none of the players currently reside in our top 50 and we feel they could climb the list, and teams’ boards, before July.

RODE

Will Taylor, OF, Dutch Fork HS, SC
We already regard Taylor as a second-round prospect. He’s an excellent athlete that is committed to Clemson as a slot receiver in addition to baseball. He has plus speed and quick-twitch actions across his game. Limited experience would excuse any rawness at the plate, but he held his own against some top arms last summer and didn’t seem overmatched by big velo. This spring will be tough to scout high school guys with limited schedules, but with the draft in July, a combine and likely other opportunities for players to get some reps in, Taylor is the kind of player that could easily climb boards if he shows his athleticism and some feel for hit in front of the right people.
