In our last bit of analysis regarding the state’s latest Class of 2020 Rankings update, we’ll cover the prospects making their first-ever appearances on their class’ board. When we last took a look at the 2020 rankings in late August, there was plenty to go over that impacted the top-120 board. This time around, headed into the offseason, there’s slightly less to cover – meaning that there are fewer newcomers to share notes on – but nonetheless, there’s still plenty to talk about regarding the juniors making their 2020 debuts.

This class’ rankings have expanded by 30 names, and RHP Jacob Kampf (Lockport; uncommitted) is the highest-ranking debuting prospect at No. 62. Kampf, earned his way onto the board with his performance in a recent bullpen setting. The 6-foot-1, 165-pound, lean, live-bodied, right-hander has a loose, easy arm and sat 84-85 mph, touching 86. He also mixed in a breaking ball at 70-72 mph that has a chance to be an out pitch in the future.
