Inside the Stats: Pitchers from the NC Procase

Brandon Hall
North Carolina Director of Scouting

The first North Carolina PBR Procase featured twenty of the top players from North Carolina.  The purpose of the event is to give pro scouts an early look at some of the high school players they will be working to see this spring.

Thirteen pitchers put on an impressive show at the start of the Procase.  With one mound live, and 30+ professional scouts setup behind the plate, arm after arm pounded the zone with arm strength and above average secondary stuff.  Four arms bumped 90 mph in the early spring bullpen, as most are still gearing up for their season.  The lone 2019 graduate at the event, Chris Villaman (LHP, Ledford HS) worked with an easy arm stroke and direct line as he sat 89-90 with ease throughout his bullpen.
