Introducing PBR Alabama

Sean Duncan
President

With great pleasure, we bring to you Prep Baseball Report Alabama. Our mission in Alabama mirrors that of our other state-specific coverage: to provide the most comprehensive in-state scouting information, to promote high school baseball and, ultimately help Alabama prep athletes achieve their dreams of playing baseball at the next level. Our goal is to be the year-round No. 1 scouting resource for prep baseball in Alabama.

Although it will take some time to achieve the status of our other 38 states, we are certain we have the right person to thoroughly, accurately and honestly scout Alabama:

David Sharp.

A native of Huntsville, Sharp's baseball roots run deep throughout Alabama. A decorated coach with a long history of winning at all levels, Sharp has spent the last four years working with USA Baseball as a coach, evaluator and scout. Last year, Sharp was named the manager of USA Baseball's 12U National Team, in which he guided the squad to the 2017 WBSC World Cup championship, and in the process earned USA Baseball Developmental Coach of the Year. He also was part of USA Baseball's 12U World Cup championship in 2015 as an assistant coach, and earned a silver medal at the COPABE Pan American Championships in 2016.

Beyond his successes with USA Baseball, Sharp is entrenched in the Alabama high school baseball scene, having coached in the state for the 24 years, including the last six years as the head coach at perennial state power Huntsville High School. At Huntsville, Sharp was part of a state championship in 2011. Sharp also spent nine years at Lee High School, his alma mater. A former catcher, Sharp played collegiately at Faulkner University in Montgomery, AL.

Now Sharp will bring his vast baseball experiences and passions for scouting to Alabama's prep baseball scene. Sharp will work tirelessly to bring to you the most comprehensive high school baseball information Alabama has ever seen and provide scouting coverage to all corners of the state. But he can't do it alone. Please email him at [email protected] with college commitments, relevant news, and top players in your area.

Alabama-specific events will begin this summer. Prep Baseball Report events are designed to give players the maximum exposure needed to advance to the next level. Not only will players receive high-level exposure to college coaches, but all players at events will be videotaped, and the edited performance will be hosted online. All players' profiles, verified statistics and scouting reports can be searched in our expansive player database.

Our flagship state, Prep Baseball Report Illinois, was launched in 2005. Over the last 13 years, the Prep Baseball Report has evolved into one of the country's biggest and most respected independent scouting services, with a singular focus of providing comprehensive coverage in every state we are in. More than 800 colleges and pro scouts now subscribe to the Prep Baseball Report multimedia services.

Now, we are thrilled to be your No. 1 source of high school baseball in Alabama.
