Harrison Johnson 3B / OF / Mason, OH / 2020

MASON - A “childhood dream” for Harrison Johnson started to become reality at the Future Games.

“With all the scouts there, that told me in other people’s eyes that I’ve got what it takes,” the Mason junior explained. “The process showed that I’m wanted by some great schools.”

Ohio University was among those enamoured by the 28th-rated player in Ohio’s 2020 class.

“That was the first time they saw me,” Johnson noted. “We started talking at the beginning of fall ball and they kept coming to see me. I went to a workout camp and set up a visit there and they offered me.”

A commitment followed for the 6-1 186-pound left-handed hitter, who had visited Gardner Webb and also received  interest from Kent State, Indiana and Purdue.

“Staying close to home was a big thing so my family can watch,” Johnson admitted. “Academics was another thing.”

Johnson came away impressed from the visit to Athens.

“It was a beautiful campus,” Johnson said. “It has a nice college field and the facilities are great for all sports. Academically, I’m looking at majoring in sport management and they have the top program in the country.”

There was more that Johnson liked.
