During the summer, it looked like Kentucky was headed toward having a historic high school draft class. OF/RHP Jordon Adell (Ballard HS, KY) was putting on prodigious displays in batting practice. RHP Ben Jordan (West Carter HS, KY) threw in the mid 90s at an Area Code Games tryout. And RHP Joe Boyle (North Oldham HS, KY) just moved from Missouri, where was the top prospect and was up to 96 mph as a junior. However, it wouldn’t come to fruition. By mid-spring, Boyle had removed himself from the draft and Jordan went down with an elbow injury. Adell figures to be the state’s first high school first-rounder since the Twins took Ben Revere 28th overall in 2007.

PBR Draft 100 Prospects

10. Jordon Adell, OF/RHP, Ballard HS, KY
One of the top athletes in the entire country, Adell looks the part with his 6-foot-3, 200-pound frame. His raw tools are undeniable on offense and defense. He is a plus runner, turning in a 6.4-second 60 at the Tournament of Stars and a 6.56 at East Coast Pro last summer, and has flashed a plus arm from the outfield.
