Scouting Report
9.11.16: Hilliard has an athletic 5-11 frame and ran a 7.08 60 yard dash. Hits from the right side with an upright stance. Smooth load back into a slight wrap, leg kick stride, with good rhythm. Good lower half and balance throughout his swing. Short swing with a quick bat, line drive approach, exit velocity was 81. In the infield, good footwork and soft hands, playing through the ball well. Clean exchange and release. Short arm action that is quick with a three quarters arm action. Above average arm strength with a position velocity of 80.
7.21.15 - Athletic frame at 5-foot-10 160-pounds. Hits from an athletics set up with a quick and simple load. Has a short path to ball with some bat speed. Could get some more lower half usage and has good balance throughout swing. Middle approach as a hitter. Active feet from the corner. Gets in good position stays of balls of feet. Clean exchange and a short arm action throwing from a high ¾ arm slot. Plays thru the ball well. Nice hands. Infield velocity of 78 mph and an exit velocity of 79 mph. Ran a 7.53 60 yard dash
2.21.15 - Chase Hilliard is a 5-foot-9 160-pound 2B/3B. Has good actions with average hands. Shows fluid footwork with a slight stiffness. Makes accurate and consistent throws from a high ¾ arm slot. His infield velocity was 72 mph. Offensively, Hilliard hits from a balance set up with a smooth longer load. Short to the baseball being a gap-to-gap type hitter. Has fluid rhythm in swing and an exit velocity of 74 mph. Hilliard ran a 7.70 60 yard dash.
