Mikey Bello OF Pope John (NJ) 2021 (Auburn)
Strong physical frame. Athletic set up with some rhythm slightly open. Leg kick load, shows nice balance throughout. Hands work at the plate, direct to the baseball with uphill finish. Power is present, and should continue to develop over the course of the net two years before he steps on campus. Showed good barrel control. Really like the total package of the talented outfielder, will be fun to follow his junior and senior campaigns.

Versatile who can fit at back stop or a corner infield.

Heavy Hitters 4

Andrew Rodriguez IF/P Vineland (NJ) 2021
Athletic frame. Two way potential in the prospect, pitched in the game I got to watch, only saw one at bat and it was a short swing with some extension on a deep drive to left-center field. Started on the mound for HH4, and was a very interesting prospect. Nice tempo in the delivery with a loose arm and more in the tank. Was up to 83 mph on the day. command was a bit shaky to start, but settled down after first and pitched well after. One to keep an eye on, two way potential. Breaking ball 70-73.

Joe Bucolo OF Schalcik (NJ) 2020
Athletic frame. Balanced set up. Longer swing with some bat speed. Shows some strength at the plate. Pulled off at times, but strength present.

Rise 2021

Connor Schumann LHP Midlothian 2021
Athletic left handed arm. Works exclusively from the stretch. Repeatable leg lift, drives down the mound, and lands slightly closed. Full arm circle with some arm speed from a high three-quarter arm slot. Pitched with intent and used a fastball that sat 81-84 and touched 85. Slider is a legitimate out pitch at the next level and it sat 70-73 mph. Fastball plays up off of the slider and in two innings of work only had one ball put in play.

Spencer Baird RHP Benedictine 2021
Athletic quick arm right hander who works exclusively from the stretch. Bigger leg lift from the stretch, weight is pre-set in the back leg, and lands slightly open falling toward first base. Short arm action and throws with some arm speed from the three-quarter arm slot. Fastball sat 81-82 and touched 83 a few times. Slider was inconsistent at times, but had makings of a solid secondary pitch at 69-71 mph.

Myles Ellis RHP Matoaca 2021
Ellis has a strong compact frame. Repeatable leg lift, controlled mechanics, and engages lower half moving forward. Full arm circle and throws from a three-quarter arm slot. Fastball sat 81-82 mph and got swings and misses working both ends of the strike zone. Breaking ball sat 66-68 mph and had 11/5 shape. Mixed it in well and ended some counts with the breaking ball.

Paul Broussard 1B/3B Midlothian 2021
Strong projectable frame with some athleticism. Slightly wider athletic base, small pick up and stride forward, and finishes on line. Hands are quick to the ball, shows aggression at the plate, and swing had line drive tendency with some power potential. Squared up multiple balls on the weekend. Defensively, feet worked around the bag and was a good target at first-base. Projects to corner infield, or possibly corner outfield at the next level.

Grayson Harris IF Cosby 2021
Slightly wider athletic base at the plate. Pick up to stride landing square, lower half has some aggression, and bat path is level with an uphill finish. Found the barrel multiple times on the weekend and showed pull side tendency in the swing. Defensively, Harris fields out front, feet worked around bag, and showed comfort throwing from multiple slots.

Ethan Smith IF/OF Midlothian 2021Open athletic stance from the right side. Strides forward and lands on line. Hands make minimal load back, level path, and stays through on contact. Swing translated best when staying in line drive approach and using the backside of the field. Defensively Smith showed some defensive versatility at third-base and second-base with ability to contribute in left field at times.

Ethan Robinson OF Monacan 2021
Athletic stance from the right side that starts slightly open. Small leg lift to stride, lands square, and finishes lower half completely. Swing has uphill tilt. Bat speed and strength getting through. Gap to gap power was displayed in multiple at bats throughout the weekend. Defensively projects to corner outfield, or possibly even first base.

Kevin Mackmin RHP/IF Westfield (VA) 2021
Projectable frame with some legnth. Has clean arm action throwing from a high three quarter slot. Average lower half implementation throughout delivery. Attacks with fastball that jumps on hitters. Gets downhill with the fastball. Pitched showed slight arm side run on the pitch that ranged 79-81 mph topping out at 82. More in the tank. Efficient delivery that should continue to improve as he develops. Breaking ball had 11/5 shape with gradual break at 67-68 mph. Pitch shows potential as he throws with more intent. Hits from slightly open set up at the plate. Hands are quick and direct to the ball with uphill finish through extension. Creates nice bat speed at the plate with aggression in swing. Shows some power potential to the pull side currently that looks like should develop to all fields with gap to gap approach.
