The PBR Mid Atlantic Fall championship was held September 13-15 at the Henry S. Parker Atheltics complex in Salisbury, MD. 30 teams from VA, DC, DE, MD, NJ, and PA attended the tournament. Today we continue post tournament content with day three of our scout blog.

Complete Game Sox

Jack Price RHP Spring-Ford 2021
Long projectable frame at 6-foot-2. Quick pace to delivery, lands closed, and long arm action from an over the top arm slot. Filled the strike zone with two pitches. The fastball sat 76-80 mph and topped at 81 on occasion. Breaking ball had 12/6 shape at 61-63 mph. Interesting arm to follow that should add more velocity as he adds strength to the frame. 

Jake Keenan SS/OF Downingtown East 2021
Athletic frame standing around 5-foot-10. Loud contact in multiple at-bats with two doubles to deep center. Slight uphill path to the swing, barrel stays through the zone on extension, and had a solid gap to gap approach from the right side. 

CJ Ditterline LHP/OF Spring-Ford 2020
Athletic two way prospect. Slight drop and drive down the mound. Shoulders level, lands on line, and had a quick arm from three-quarter arm slot. Fastball was 76-77 mph with late arm side run. Slider was 69-70 with solid arm speed and tight shape. At the plate hits from right side with athletic setup. Loads into a slight crouch, slightly uphill path, and gap to gap approach.

Keystone Baseball Club

Spencer Butts SS York Suburban 2021
5-10, 165, showed high end quickness and on the diamond.  Excellent feel for barrel. Aggressvie on bases, stealing multiple bags. Showed excellent range ont he defensive end, quick and confident first step with range.  

Tommy Molski RHP Northern 2021
Nice pickoff move. Excellent temp in quick and controlled delivery from and over the top slot. Great frame, good body. Atheltic body. Inconsistent with command but looks like that should not be a problem. Ranged from 85-88 with 78-79 slider with short side to side action. Projectable and raw mound prospect.  

Owen Keim RHP Line Mountain 2021
6-2, 195, solid athletic build. Showed plus command of all three pitches. Fastball ranged from 80-82, slider showed 10/4 shape and was tight at 61-63 mph. Changeup at 74 mph. Good mix in game, confidence in all his pitches. Showed excellent command of the strike zone. Controlled windup with smooth delivery, light effort, three quarter arm slot. (Video)

PA Shockers

Carter Welch LHP Northwestern (PA) 2021
Worked quick with a controlled wind-up and delivery. Clean hand separation and down-to-out lower half sdrive off the rubber landing closed to the plate. Throws with shorter arm action from a low-mid three-quarters arm slot with regular effort. Slowed arm down some on off-speed. Fastball sat 77-80 and touched 81 mph. Breaking ball was 62-65 mph with some tight 1/7 and 2/8 shape. (Video)

Anthony Rostick INF/RHP Quakertown (PA) 2021
Strong, athletic frame. Showed strength at the plate and a nice gap-to-gap approach. Also pitched and threw from the stretch exclusively. High leg kick to a compact balance point with strong down-to-out lower half drive. Showed quick arm speed through release throwing with long arm action from a three-quarter slot. Mixed in the breaking ball well and also changed arm slots a few times dropping down side-arm without losing much velocity. Fastball sat 78-79 mph and breaking ball had hard 11/5 shape at 70 mph.  

Tyler Neilson LHP Quakertown 2021
Controlled side-step wind-up and down-to-out lower half drive of the rubber landing slightly closed to the plate. Throws with shorter arm action from a low three-quarter slot with regular effort. Fastball sat 73-76 mph and breaking ball was 62-65 mph with some 2/8 sweep. 

Rising Stars

Devin Fletcher RHP Liberty 2021
6-foot-7 long projectable frame with plenty of room to add strength. Low effort delivery with a high leg kick. Strides down the mound and lands on line. Full arm circle from a low three-quarter arm slot. Fastball sat 81-83 mph and changeup was 75-76 with fastball intent and had solid control to both sides of the plate with the pitch. Filled with zone up with two pitches and changeup has the making of a plus pitch.

Joe Algard RHP Parkland 2021
Athletic frame working primarily from the stretch in his relief outing. Repeatable leg lift and lands square to the plate. Short arm action from three-quarter arm slot. Fastball sat 78-82 and flashed a few 83's. Breaking ball was 69-73 with solid arm speed and played well off of the fastball. Had more slider look with hard late break and swing and miss potential to the pitch.

GSA Gators

Will Conroy RHP Shenandoah Valley (PA) 2020 (Millersville)
Lanky projectable frame at 6-foot-2, 155-pounds. Controlled build up delivery. Long free arm action throwing from a high three quarter lot. Ball comes out well with quick arm whip. Nice backside involvement through release. Fastball had arm side run on the pitch at 80-82 mph. Breaking ball had bigger 11/5 shape with gradual break at 64-66 mph.

Gavin McGowan RHP Hazelton (PA) 2020 (Lehigh)
Hits from a balanced set up at the plate. Short swing with quick hands through the zone and nice extension through contact. Nice rhythm at the plate. On the mound, has nice tempo in the delivery with an aggressive approach to the plate. fastball ran 78-80 on the day with a big 11/5 breaking ball and good rotation with depth at 69 mph.
