The Second Annual Mid-Atlantic Procase is set to take place on Saturday, February 9th at Tuckahoe Sports Institute in Henrico, VA. Top prospects from the 2019 class and select underclassmen from around the Mid-Atlantic region will be there to showcase their ability in front of the PBR scouting staff as well as MLB Organizations. Today we highlight a player who will be attending.

SCOUTING REPORT

2.17.18: Jones is 6-0 with an athletic frame, a stronger lower half and some projection left to his frame. He hits from the right side from an open upright stance. Strides on line, smooth load back, good relaxed rhythm. Short to ball, uphill swing path, barrel through zone quickly, line drive hitter, worked gap to gap, exit velocity was 83. In the outfield, gets behind the ball, has good footwork, fields it with above average hands. Quick clean exchange, throws from a three-quarters arm slot, short loose arm action with easy effort, outfield velocity was 88. Ran a 4.05 home to first, has a chance to be a game changing defender in the outfield.

10.31.17:  Athletic projectable frame at 6-foot, 170-pounds. Hits from a tall set up, quiet load, shorter swing path with average bat speed. Sprays ball around the field. Was a 3.97 on a drag bunt and ran a 6.97 60-yard dash. Quick first step with a lot of range in the outfield. Loose arm action with some carry on throws from the outfield.

6.3.17: Jones has a lankier frame with a lot of athleticism. Hits from the right side from an open stance, strides on line, smooth load and good rhythm. Short level swing with good hips and balance. Some batspeed and quickness to his bat, line drive hitter with good approach working gap to gap. In the outfield, got good breaks on balls and took good routes, glides to ball. Has speed, ran a 4.56 on a groundout after falling to a knee on his first step. A ton of athleticism and upside.
