The State Games of North Carolina holds a high school baseball showcase each year, around the many other events they are running.  The baseball event has become a recruiting staple for many college coaches and pro scouts.

The State Games format divides NC into eight regions, with each region run by an area high school coach.  The coaching staffs select all-star teams of sorts to represent each region.  Over a five-day period, the players will run through a pro-style workout and play four games.  The game play segment has teams divided into two pools with the pools crossing over on the final day to decide the medal winners.

This year, as in most year, the State Games were able to draw many of the top players from across North Carolina.  The workout was held at Grimsley High School with most of the games being played at UNC Greensboro.  Over the coming week, we will take a look at the event and how players from each region performed.  Today we take a look at the statistical information gathered over the five days.
