Day two’s rain shortened schedule did nothing to deter the talented players in attendance in Jupiter from showcasing their impressive work on the diamond, and many players had impressive days/outings. Some persevered with heavy rain falling all around them, while others were able to fire up the engines after a long delay. All in all, it was another great day at the ballpark filled with strong performances.

ON THE HUNT TOP PERFORMANCE:

Travis Lane RHP / 1B / Phillips Academy Andover, MA / 2018

Lane came out pumping 89-92 wit his fastball driving it down in the zone, and countered with a quality breaking pitch to attract swings and misses. The durable, big-framed, 6-foot-3, 220-pound right-hander showcased the stuff necessary to be an impact player and Boston College, and a potential draft pick, but it was his ability to keep his composure which stood out above all else. With rain dumping all over him, Lane never wavered, and remained stoic in his pursuit of outs right up until the umpires called for the tarps. It says a lot about a young pitcher to be able to keep his head with a backstop filled with scouts and rain falling all around.
