Orlando Scorpions Standouts

Doug Freeman
Florida Scouting Director

The Orlando Scorpions are not only one of the top programs in the state, but also in the country. We have highlighted standouts from other top programs around the state and today we take a look at twenty two standouts from the weekend. The Scorpions held an initial tryout the week prior and this event was for their "Founders Club" teams, so it consisted of roughly 50 of the top players in the 2019-2021, with a few 2022s, in each class from the tryouts the week prior.

Each class took part in a pro-style type workout with 60 yard dash, infield and batting practice. There were also light bullpens during batting practice. Players in Florida seems to play year round, but December is typically more of a down time for players. Many players looked to have taken advantage of that time to get in the weight room and add some strength. This includes one of the top players not only in Florida, but in the entire country in 2020 LSU commit Dylan Crews. Dylan, along with fellow 2020s, Michael Brooks and Collin Kayfus were among a very impressive 2020 class.

The 2021 class equally impressive. Led my Miami commit Corey Robinson and players to follow such as Aaron Saltsman, we no take a look at the full breakdown of all of the 22 standouts from the 2019-2021 classes on the day.
