PBR Cup 2022: Georgia's Power RHPs

The PBR Cup was once again a loaded event. It had it all. There were MLB Draft prospects, highly regarded underclassmen, and a slew of new faces that made big impressions. Spending the majority of my time keyed in on Georgia’s underclassmen. A few trends emerged that I will be highlighting over the course of several articles
The first trend we identified was the dominance of the 2025 southpaws. The second we are going to dive into is the power right-hander. There were several 2024 and 2025 prospects that separated themselves with big arms. Keep reading to see who made the cut.

Connor Shouse SS / RHP / East Cobb Academy, GA / 2024Georgia Tech commit. Shouse continues to show he has one of the most electric arms in the entire state. His whip of an arm works long on the back side before accelerating with some of the quickest arm speed in the state. His arm gets out front with ease and big extension, reaching down the mound with a crossfire finish. An elite athlete at 6-foot, 168-pounds, he has an explosive delivery while still maintaining a smooth operation throughout. Shouse is quick to his balance point, coiling his lower half as he closes off his upper and aligns his front-side downhill. He sinks into his lower half while maintaining good posture. The stride is long, allowing his extension to play up even more, and he lands closed with some spin off. Coming out of the bullpen, he worked a clean inning, generating three fly outs and one ground ball. The explosive fastball, up to 93 in the spring, sat 90-02 with sink in the lower half.
