PBR Draft 100 Spotlight: Alex Scherff

By Nathan Rode
National Supervisor

RHP Alex Scherff (Colleyville Heritage HS, TX) has a big, durable frame at 6-foot-4, 205-pounds. A Texas A&M recruit, he works from a high-3/4 slot with a short, quick arm stroke and can sit in the mid 90s, touching 97-99 mph. He also mixes in a two-seam fastball with late arm-side run at 91-93. His breaking ball is inconsistent, but has shown lateral break at 76-77. He’s able to locate his fastball to both sides of the plate and has shown flashes of a changeup with potential.
