PBR Fall Classic took place this past weekend, October 16th through the 18th. Today, we present to you the PBR Fall Classic Scout Blog. The Scout Blog provides insider information and scouting notes from the PBR Scouting Staff during the tournament. Featured in the blog is information unsigned prospects, draft prospects and anything else that is notable. We provide a wide range of information, including player evaluations, velocities, pop times, home to first times and more. Simply put, the PBR Fall Classic Scout Blog is loaded with information. Every team may not receive write-ups as standouts are identified by the PBR staff throughout the event.

Will Banks, RHP, Hickory (NC), 2022
6-foot-6, 200-pound right-handed pitcher, projectable build, long and lanky with lots of room to fill out, lean strength. Arm played short, quick arm speed to a ¾ slot, rotational. Fastball sat 87-91, touched 92 in the first inning, used the entire zone, high volume strikes. Slider, 77-78, downer action, extra bite low in the zone, used as an out pitch, got batters to chase out of the zone.


Jeb Bartle, RHP, Cullman (AL), 2021
Uncommitted. 6-foot, 210-pound right-handed pitcher, strong, sturdy frame, had one of the top performances on the weekend, throwing 6.1 no-hit innings, finishing with a line of 7.0 IP, 1 H, 8 K, 1 BB. Pounded the zone with his fastball, held velo for all seven innings. Arm worked short and quick to a ¾ slot. Fastball sat 85-87, ran it to the both sides of the plate, garnered swing and misses with. Slider, 74-77, downer action.

Ethan Belk, OF/RHP, Legion Collegiate (SC), 2023
5-foot-11, 185-pound right-handed two-way prospect, strong, sturdy build with room for additional strength. Impressed with his strong arm on the mound and in the outfield. On the mound, arm works short and quick on the back-side, hides the ball well, ¾ slot. Fastball sat 82-85, touched 86, some sinking life. Curveball, 12/6 shape, depth, 70-72, swing and miss potential. Located both his fastball and curveball in the zone. Defensively, advanced arm strength for age. Accurate on throws into the infield, fluid actions, cut a number of runners down trying to take extra bases on the weekend.
Peter Berg, RHP, West Forsyth (GA), 2021
Uncommitted. 6-foot-2, 190-pound right-handed pitcher, lean frame. Arm worked long showing low and wide on the back-side, came out of a ¾ to high ¾ slot. Fastball sat 83-85, touched 86. Curveball, 70-73, 11/5 shape, swing and miss potential. Worked in the zone with both pitches, threw about a 50/50 mix of the two, used curveball in any count.
Carson Boles, MIF, Lebanon (TN), 2021
Lincoln Memorial commit. 5-foot-11, 155-pound right-handed hitting middle infielder, lean, athletic frame, some quick twitch.`Was an offensive catalyst for 5 Star Midsouth. Showed the ability to drive the ball with a somewhat uphill swing, aggressive with quick hands. When needed to cut down the swing and went with a more line drive swing, looking to just put the ball in play. Defensively, smooth action, quick feet, more than enough arm to stick on the left-side.

Bristol Carter, OF/SS, Northwest Guilford (NC), 2023
5-foot-11, 170-pound right-handed hitting primary outfielder and shortstop, athletically built, lean muscle. Hit out of the leadoff spot for Dirtbags as they claimed the title at the PBR Fall Classic. Set the tone, good feel for the barrel, line drive approach, flashed gap-to-gap abilities. A 6.67 60 runner, once on base was aggressive, made the pitcher think about him at all times.

Jackson Chirello, SS/CIF, Etowah (GA), 2022
6-foot-3, 175-pound left-handed hitting infielder, long, lanky frame, projectable build, developing strength with much more on the way. At the plate, wide setup, hands load back smoothly, short stride, good balance through finish. Gap-to-gap type hitter, athletic swing, barrel works level through the zone, quick hands, generates hard contact, more power on the way as he adds to is frame.
William Cook, 3B/RHP, Miamisburg (OH), 2021
Louisville commit. 6-foot-5, 190-pound left-handed hitting third baseman and right-handed pitcher, extra large projectable frame, athletically built, long and lanky with ample room to fill out. On the mound, arm with advanced arm speed, quick stab and wrist wrap on the back-side, keeps arm action continuous out to a ¾ slot. Fastball, sat 87-90 in the first inning, settled in at 85-88, jumps out of hand, gets on batters in a hurry. Curveball, 70-73, 12/6 shape, depth, good feel for, threw a high volume of strikes with. Changeup, 76, fade action. Offensively, swings a big bat from the left-side with a power, pull-side approach.
Landon Depratter, 3B/OF, Mill Creek (GA), 2021
Kennesaw State commit. 6-foot-1, 180-pound right-handed hitting third baseman and outfielder, athletic, muscular build. Seemingly always hits when he comes to LakePoint, consistently drives the ball around the park for extra base hits. Swing is quick and smooth with aggression, the barrel works mostly uphill through the zone.
Jay Dillard, SS, TL Hanna (SC), 2022
Clemson Commit. Loads of athleticism showed why Dillard is headed to play for the Tigers. Tons of range at SS with a strong arm. Could play anywhere on the field. Simple, strong swing from the right side. Line drive approach. Showed the ability to hit velo. Sticks with his approach and works middle away.
Tom Echols, RHP, Kerr-Vance Academy (NC), 2022
Uncommitted. 6-foot-4 200-pounds. Long, lanky, projectable frame with an over the top arm slot. Clean delivery with a loose arm action. Echols ran the fastball up to 86. Ended up sitting 83-86 for most of his outing. He showed the ability to pitch in, and throw his breaking ball off his fastball which made it more effective. Curveball was 70-73 with a hard late break. Echols showed every ability to produce at the next level. There is more velo left in the strong 6-4 frame.


Wyatt Fisher, RHP, Oak Hills (OH), 2021
6-foot-1, 180-pound right-handed pitcher, sturdy build, strong lower half. Arm plays short and quick to an over-the-top slot. Tall and fall delivery, works across the mound, lands square, finishes crossing over. Fastball sat 83-86, touched 87, worked in the zone. Curveball, 12/6 shape, depth, flashed late bite, 76-77.


Anthony Gabello, RHP/1B, Hanover (VA), 2022
6-foot-3, 230-pound right-handed pitcher and first baseman, wide, physical frame, powerful build. Short arm action with some wrist wrapping on the back-side, quick arm speed to a ¾ slot. Fastball sat 90-91, touched 92 in the first inning, settled in at 87-90. Curveball, 73-75, 12/6 shape, had bite to it in warm ups, in-game took some off to throw for strikes.
Connor Hutchinson, SS/RHP, Troy (OH), 2023
5-foot-11, 160 pounds. Competitive outings on the mound. Came out of the bullpen in a tight game to preserve the win on Sunday. Went 3.2 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 3 K. Up-tempo delivery, works quick on the mound. Short arm action. Fastball sat 81-85; challenged hitters in the zone. Breaking ball showed large velocity difference at 62-63. Good athlete who also ran a 6.91 earlier this month

Colby Hutto, SS/RHP, West Morgan (AL), 2021
The 6-foot-2, 188 pound two-way had standout performances at LakePoint over the summer, and did not slow up this fall. Hutto uses a simple load at the plate with athleticism all over the field; 6.60 runner that had two doubles on the weekend. On the mound, Hutto got the win, going 6 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 9 K. Predominantly used FB/CB combo. Fastball sat 85-90 with control. Spotted-up breaking ball throughout the outing at 73-75 with 12/6 shape.

Steven Jones, RHP, Brookville (OH), 2021
Indianapolis commit. 6-foot-2, 178-pound right-handed pitcher, long, projectable build, went 4.0 IP, 0 R, 5 K, 2 BB. Long arm action, draw it deep and wide on the back-side, quick acceleration to a low ¾ slot, rotational with cross-body action. Fastball was up to 91 early on in the game, settled into the mid to upper 80s as the game progressed, high spin rate, 2660 max rpm, running action, induced weak contact and swing and misses. With how effective his fastball was, especially later in the game, there was not much need for a breaking ball.
Caleb Logerwell, RHP, Homeschool (GA), 2021
UCF commit. 6-foot-2, 190-pound right-handed pitcher, athletic frame, muscular build, MLB draft prospect, has gained a lot of helium over the past six months. Arm works short with elite arm speed, comes out of a ¾ slot. Worked 3.0 IP, 0 R, 1 H, 6 K, 0 BB. Fastball topped out at 92, ranged 85-92, 2450 max rpm. Curveball, 73-78, 2700 max rpm, one of the top breaking balls in Georgia’s class of 2021, swing and miss pitch, throws it for strikes, 12/6 shape with depth and sharp break.
Jaxon Lucas, SS/RHP, Garner (NC), 2023
NC State commit. 6-foot-1, 172-pound right-handed two-way prospect, athletically built with room to fill out. Threw a complete shutout to propel Dirtbags in to the championship game at the PBR Fall Classic, went 5.0 IP, 0 R, 4 H, 8 K, 0 BB. Arm works clean on the backside with quick arm speed out to a low ¾ slot, repeats well. Fastball sat 83-86, touched 87, sinking action. Curveball, 70-74, sharp sweeping action (2580 max rom), showed an aptitude to spin it, controlled the zone with, threw it for strikes in all counts.
Brooks McDonnough, RHP, Brentwood (TN), 2021
6-foot-4, 170 pounds; long, lanky build. Has made large jumps in overall arsenal throughout the summer. Throwing from a low ¾ slot, McDonnough flashes a three-pitch-mix. Command of fastball was impressive in outing; sitting 84-89 with low-effort. Fastball showed significant armside movement. Slider has makings of wipeout action at 74-77; plus feel for pitch. Changeup at 75 mph with fade. Strike-thrower with large potential and present ability still on the market.
Jake Nevle, RHP, Blessed Trinity (GA), 2021
5-foot-9, 161-pound right-handed pitcher, proportional build, strength in lower half, high level pitchability, has consistently throws strikes at LakePoint this fall and shown a high degree of feel for a 12/6 breaking ball. Arm plays short and quick to an over-the-top slot on his fastball, manipulates slot on breaking ball to change shapes, drops to a low ¾ on changeup. Fastball sat 79-82, touched 83. Curveball, 68-71, 12/6 shape when throwing out of high ¾ or over-the-top slot, 11/5 shape when he drops slot, depth, swing and miss pitch, great feel for, induces nearly all of his strikeouts on pitch. Went 6.0 IP, 0 R, 3 H, 13 K, 3 BB.

Jase Peoples, RHP, Jefferson (GA), 2024
6-foot, 175-pound right-handed pitcher, athletically built, going to carry significant strength on frame, played against prospects three grades above him in the upperclass division of the PBR Fall Classic, looked comfortable on the diamond. On the mound, arm works clean and methodical on the back-side, advanced arm speed for age, ¾ slot, whippy hand speed, high front side. Fastball sat 81-84, touched 85. Curveball, 68-71, 12/6 shape, late bite, has potential to be a swing and miss pitch.
Luke Sinnard, RHP, Beech (TN), 2021
Western Kentucky Commit. 6-foot-7 250-pounds. Large, power frame with an easy delivery. Clean arm action, commanding the zone. He went 5.2IP with 2 H 1 ER and 13 strikeouts. Fastball worked up to 91. Settled in at 85-88. Had a power breaking ball at 74-75 to go with the heavy fastball. Much more to come for Sinnard with his frame and strong arm.
Hayden Stone, RHP, Mill Creek (GA), 2021
Uncommitted. 6-foot-4, 175-pound right-handed pitcher, long projectable frame, plenty of room to add additional strength. Clean, methodical draw on the back side, accelerates to a ¾ slot. A ground ball pitcher, let his infielders work behind him. Fastball sat 81-83, armside run. Curveball, 69-73, 11/5 shape, depth. Created weak contact with both pitches.
James Tallon, LHP, Yorktown (VA), 2022
6-foot-4, 175-pound left-handed pitcher, long, lanky frame, lean build. Worked out of a low ¾ slot, long arm action on the back-side, arm speed is quick enough to get out front on time. Fastball sat 81-84, located away to right-handed batters. Curveball, 69-71, sweeping action, brought in on the hands.
Nathan Teague, RHP, Southern Alamance (NC), 2023
6-foot-6, 205-pound right-handed pitcher, long, projectable frame, closed out a win for Dirtbags with an overpowering fastball. Fastball touched 87, ranged 81-86, ball jumps out of hand, running action, used the entire zone. Arm works with length on the back-side, quick arm speed to a ¾ slot. A lot to like in the young arm, advanced arm strength.
John Tomlinson, LHP, Lebanon (TN), 2021
6-foot-3, 165-pound left-handed pitcher, long, lanky frame, athletically built, showed a lot of feel on the mound, controlled the zone with his fastball, found the edges of the zone and located effectively. Arm plays short and loose to a high ¾ slot, creates deception hiding the ball well on the back-side. Fastball sat 83-85, touched 86. Did not need to show much of a breaking ball with how he was locating his fastball.
Richard Westrop, RHP, Lambert (GA), 2021
Princeton commit. 6-foot-3, 220-pound right-handed pitcher, physical frame broad shoulders, strength throughout frame, especially in his lower half. Arm plays with some clean with some length on the back-side, hides the ball well, whippy arm speed, high ¾ slot, strong front side. Fastball sat 86-88, touched 89, run and sink action. Changeup, 80-82, heavy fade to the armside. Curveball, 12/6 shape, depth, swing and miss type pitch.
CJ Whaley, RHP, Kennesaw Mountain (GA), 2021
6-foot-3, 205-pound right-handed pitcher, physical frame with room for more, strength throughout, durable, more in the tank. Arm works short to a high ¾ slot, above average arm strength. Feel for three pitches. Fastball, 83-85, controlled the zone. Curveball, 70-72, 11/5 shape, depth, garnered swing and miss with. Changeup, 78, sinking action.
Max Whitesell, RHP, Centerville (OH), 2021
Ohio Dominican commit. 6-foot-2, 200 pounds; mature, durable build. Impressive start for CBC Blackhawks, going 5 IP, 0 R, 1 H, 10 K. Used a simple, short arm action form a H3/4 slot  with varying tempos in delivery. Fastball showed late life, especially up in the zone at 85-89, topping at 90 late in outing. Breaking ball showed slurve shape with sharp movement at 69-73. Throws secondary pitch with aggression and quick arm speed.
