PBR Scouting Staff

Prep Baseball Report is excited to announce the inaugural PBR Midwest Select. This invite-only tournament consists of top teams and programs from Illinois, Indiana, Michigan and Ohio. The event dates are April 13-14 and all games played at Grand Park in Westfield, IN. 

The Midwest Select Scout Blog provides insider information and scouting notes from the PBR Scouting Staff over the course of the event. This running blog will feature information on underclass prospects, unsigned seniors, draft prospects, and anything else that is notable. We will provide a wide range of information, including player evaluations, velocities, pop times, home to first times, and more. Simply put, the Midwest Select Scout Blog is loaded with information


Cathedral (IN)

Jared Poland, SS, 2018
Louisville commit. 5-foot-11, 190-pound, right-handed hitter with present strength, strong lower half. Long been known for his prowess with the bat. Filled up the stat sheet in this game. Finishes 2-for-3 with two triples, two runs, four RBI and a walk. Both triples were line drives driven into the right-center field gap. Compact swing, stays within himself, strong wrists and barrel stays through the hitting zone a long time. 

Poland also pitched in game two against Joliet Catholic (IL).  Fastball sat 89-91 early, topping out at 92 mph. He settled in at 87-89, running it up to 90 on occasion.  Breaking ball was 76-78.
