PBR Names Walt Jones As New Louisiana Scouting Director

Prep Baseball Report is proud to welcome Walt Jones as our new Louisiana Scouting Director. A high-level talent evaluator and communicator, Jones brings a wealth of knowledge and a passion for Louisiana baseball to Prep Baseball Report.

Jones earned a reputation as a tireless recruiter at Nicholls State, where he coached between 2014-2019, the final two years in which he served as the associate head coach.

“Few know the ins and outs of Louisiana baseball more than Walt Jones,” said Prep Baseball Report President Sean Duncan. “I am pumped to have Walt on our team. He’s a winner and a hustler, and he goes about his business with class. His work ethic, baseball acumen and competitiveness will be huge assets to our company. But the true beneficiaries will be all the players, parents and coaches in Louisiana.”

Prior to his tenure at Nicholls State, Jones coached at national powerhouse Chipola JC in Florida. A standout athlete, Jones played collegiately at Nicholls State and Lurleen B. Wallace CC. He also played a year of college football at North Alabama.

Now Jones will bring his baseball experiences, connections and passions for scouting to Louisiana’s prep baseball scene. Jones will work tirelessly to bring to you the most comprehensive high school baseball information Louisiana has ever seen, and provide scouting coverage to all corners of the state.
