Union vs Edmond Memorial

Avery Ortiz, MIF, 2023, Union HS, OSU Commit

Ortiz’s offense has been well documented over the years and he has started his senior campaign right where he left off last year.  He showed off not only the elite bat speed, but also the ability to utilize the lower half where his strength plays up at a high level.  His plate discipline is another key part of his game that has made leaps and bounds over the past few seasons and he is really starting to understand himself as a hitter and attacking his pitch and not missing it.  This won’t be the last time we check back in on the number one ranked player in the state and we expect him to continue to be one of the most feared hitters in the state.
