PBR Power 25: March 9, 2020
March 9, 2020
The PBR Power 25 is the only North Carolina High School Baseball poll that captures every team in North Carolina, regardless of classification or affiliation. The PBR Power 25 is voted on by PBR staff and posted every other week, once the high school season begins.
We are just one week into the 2020 season and we have already seen some small shakeups in the Top 25. While it is the nature of baseball for teams to win and to lose, the competition to be inside the Power 25 is very tight and a good week, or a bad week, can create movement.
Several teams had good weeks moving up in the rankings. North Lincoln has not allowed a run in three games, moving to No. 4. Myers Park picked up a good win vs. Lake Norman HS on Friday, bumping them to No. 5 from No. 8. Cuthbertson was very impressive in their only game of the year, a win over Cox Mill, bumping them to No. 7.
Glenn may have been the most impressive team in week 1. The Bobcats move from unranked to No. 15 after wins over Northwest Guilford and Northern Guilford. Other newcomers to the Power 25 include Asheville at No. 19, North Davidson at NO. 20, and Rockingham at No. 22.
We expect more movement throughout the year as the competition in the state picks up. Below is the PBR Power 25 for March 9th. All baseball fans can see the rankings. PBR subscribers can see each teams record, former ranking, and comments about their first week.
